But getting from a bag of old t-shirts to that magical moment can seem like an overwhelming project. And working with stretchy t-shirts can be really challenging.
But that's about to change . . .
Quilting One Shirt at a Time!
This approach that has so many advantages!
- Easily quilt one shirt at a time YOURSELF on your domestic machine
- Enhance the memories of each event by telling its story in the quilting design!
- Speed-quilt by combining piecing and quilting in one step
- Make smaller quilts or pillows with a few t-shirts, then add more as your t-shirt collection grows.
- No big, heavy, stretchy top to fight with
- No need to send it out for quilting.
This "club" style class is ongoing; new students can join at any time. The topics listed below repeat every month, starting with the first week of the month. Week 1: Preparing T-shirts for Quilting
Week 2: Creating and Quilting the Design
Week 3: Arranging the Layout
Week 4: Assembling the Quilted Shirts
Plus one-on-one help each week!

How do the live interactive classes work?
The class is taught on an online learning platform -- Zoom -- that allows you to see and interact with the teacher and the other class participants. At the scheduled time, the teacher and students will log in together -- everyone can see everyone else, so you can share work, ask questions, etc. You can view the class on a computer, tablet or phone (you may need to download the app). You will receive login instructions including links and passwords by email and text on the morning of the class. Please "arrive" online during the 30 minutes prior to class so you have time to get set up and learn to use the video conferencing tools.
How do I set up Zoom?
If you watch the class on a computer, you will receive instructions for downloading Zoom at the time you log into the class. If you watch the class on a mobile phone, go to Google Play or the App Store to download and install Zoom Cloud Meetings.
If you need help, you might want to ask a friend, a relative (grandkids are really good at this stuff!), or go to a computer store or library. The teacher will be online 30-60 minutes before class begins to help get set up for the class. Once you've done this the first time, it's easy after!
Can I get access to the class after the live session?
The class is recorded and posted online afterward in a private Facebook group, so you can go back and watch the class again if you want to review it or if you missed it.
Can I get help after class?

Each live class ends at the end of the video conference, but the recording of the class will be available in the Facebook Group where you can access it for 60 days after the live class.
